Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter came on “The Daily Show” last night to talk about her new book, “Within Our Reach: Ending the Mental Health Crisis,” and her mental health advocacy campaign. Carter said that in the 39 years she has been working in the mental health field, nothing has changed at all. “We didn’t de-institutionalize, we re-institutionalized,” she said, explaining that jails are now the “largest mental health facilities in the country.” Carter looked to Stewart to help change the attitude of the media towards mental health issues, and end the stigma that’s plagued the movement
